Moblizing netorks of people to impact the world for Christ by responding to physical and spritual needs

What We Believe In

The vision for Thirst4 is that we will be a movement of sending people to the North Coast of the Dominican Republic on short-term or long-term serving adventures. We will encourage all people to step out of their comfort zones in order to walk into situations where they see and experience firsthand the needs of the poor.

Our Vision

  • To help with church multiplication (i.e., new churches that in turn reproduce themselves).
  • To build or rent a central training facility to be used for education, and as a medical and disaster response location.
  • To serve, build relationships, and meet needs in the villages.
  • To repair houses in the villages in order to bridge relationships to the church.
  • To teach the men and women a variety of subjects (language, medical, educational, music, and Bible studies).
  • To teach children through Vacation Bible School.
  • To build opportunities by bringing in sports, dance, and music personnel.
  • To provide help through an eye clinic, dentistry (including braces), and surgery.
  • To assist emergency response in the event of natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and mud slides.

Thirst4 — “For all who thirst for more”

  • Mobilizing networks of people to impact the world for Christ by responding to physical and spiritual needs.
  • We are ordinary people dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome hunger, thirst, medical, and educational needs.
  • Inspired by our Christian values, we are dedicated to working with a segment of Dominicans who are the world’s most vulnerable people.
  • We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

Our Values

  • Prayer—prayer is the basis for our direction and power. Acts 1:8
  • Trust—to succeed, we must attempt things doomed to fail without God. Hebrews 11:6
  • Excellence—we will work as unto the Lord. Colossians 3:23
  • Grace—we will work with a common spirit of humility and grace. Philippians 2:1-4
  • Integrity—all that we do will be done in a manner of integrity. Proverbs 12:17

God calls us to help in our world

  • All Christians are called to share their reason for their hope and to make disciples. 1 Peter 3:15
  • We must reach out to “the least of these.” Christians are called to target the needy, to set free the captives. Isaiah 61
  • We must equip believers by implementing Jesus’ model of discipleship. Matthew 9-10
  • We must mobilize young people to join Jesus’ cause—to be disciple-makers. Matthew 28:18-20
